Because this is a Pearl Jam board, I shouldn't be surprised. But it's astounding to me, this crazy revisionist history. JLP is a phenomenal record. It's iconic. It's truly weird to me, all joking aside, that anyone would say differently.

It really is a good album. Pretty solid from top to bottom.

I'm not here to bash Cornell or Superunknown. It's a good record. But it's nowhere near the best record of the 90s. I'm not even sure it's Soundgarden's best album of the 90s.

Euphoria Morning on the other hand...

I saw Alanis live in 1996, and I loved her performance. Listened hundreds of hours to that album as well.

However, I consider Superunknown to be among the best albums of all time, along with the top Pearl Jam albums and Jar Of Flies. Great time to be alive.

I think it might the best rock album from the 90s.

Its rich and complex and it shows a really big change sonically in the band from where they came before...nor DOTU or EM are such a big departure...and it has like 5 great singles to say the least.
Again, its my thought...of course not a fact like you saying its just a good record but its not near from the best isnt either.

Euphoria Morning on the other hand...

Saw Cornell live in 1999 performing songs from his career, but mostly from Euphoria Morning. It was surprising when he came down from the stage to shake my hand, only to walk straight back up again. I guess he saw that I loved his music whether it was from Soundgarden, TOTD, Seasons or Euphoria Morning. Still love that album.

It's truly sad to me that I never got to see him live. I would have killed to see him on that acoustic tour he did. Or in support of Euphoria Morning. It makes me sick that I never got that opportunity.

I wish I had seen him more than I did as well. He has always been a huge favorite of mine, and still I didn't manage to catch his Oslo shows in 2012 and 2016. In 2012 I found out the day after, when I saw a poster just outside of my home! I'm talking ten meters from the front door of the building. After that I learnt that I need to pay better attention. Still I didn't manage to get tickets in 2016. He had chosen a very small stage, and sold out in record time. Always thought I would get another chance.

His best solo stuff is amazing, but it's a lot more varied in quality than what he did through Soundgarden. I think the tournament on RM shows that as well.

I'm the opposite of Joey here, I'm really only into Chris's work with SG - his solo stuff, even Euphoria Morning, just doesn't hit the spot for me (and Audioslave, well, uh).

Yeah, I think that's pretty common, Spenno. I think more people are on your side of things. And just to further frustrate all of you, I'll admit that I also listen to Audioslave way more than I listen to Soundgarden. I'm also far more familiar with all of Audioslave's work than I am with Soundgarden. So... I probably like Audioslave more.
