Let's talk our favorite dishes!
Bánh mì
It's cheap and delicious. Essentially, a sub with Vietnamese meats and flavors. Most places sell these for around $5. I usually get mine extra spicy with grilled pork. If you have a Lee's Sandwich in your area you should check it out. Great cheap food.

Gà Xào Sả Ớt
Lemongrass and chili with Chicken, Beef or Tofu. I like it best with thinly cut, crispy tofu. But most places use the tofu blocks, so I ussually get it with chicken.
Cơm Chiên Tay Cầm
Chicken with bok choy and snowpeas over rice served in a clay pot. Not sure why they do the clay pot thing, it's not like anyone really believes the chicken was sitting in back in a clay pot for days. Really tasty. Had a variation with shrimp and tofu with lots of fish sauce that was very good as well.

Chim Cút Rô ti
Roasted quails on rice. I've now had this twice in the last week. Truly outstanding. Rich flavors. Pretty expensive, however. Apparently, some places serve it with the heads still attached, so if you have the kids with you, you may want to check.

Gỏi Cuốn
Classic spring rolls with peanut sauce. As common as Phở, but they are hard to beat and your children will love them.
