I just bought the book a couple weeks ago based on a recommendation, i haven't started it yet but i generally find most authors to be disappointing in their style, even when the story itself is decent. Now i have to read it just to see if it's trash or not.

on a side note, i couldn't even make it through the first game of thrones book, george rr martin is NOT a good writer

Yeah, Martin is a good writer, not the best by any means, but his world building and diverse characters are top notch.

I just think Martin needed an editor.

It's kinda possible browse reading the books. You get one. Read it. Then wait three years and have to read it again before the new one. I lost interest
