Re: Film : Ready Player One (Spielberg)
I just re-watched the trailer. I'm genuinely excited for this one. A lot of the visuals matched how I'd imagined them. It appears they've really captured the atmosphere and tone of the book. Even that music is amazing.
This is one of those movies that they need to get right. This one could get easily ripped to shreds online.
Also, I think there shouldn't be any sequels to this. It's a standalone boom, and the movie should follow suit. If they want, they could look at doing a movie version of Armada - that'd send the Last Starfighter fans into a fit.

Negotiating all those IP rights must be a nightmare, though I'm sure the studio or whatever owns a lot of them already.

I love the book but was worried about how they were gonna fit it all in the film but the film has the advantage of being able to show not tell or have to describe and mention all that stuff the book does, all the references etc. Leaves it open to tell the story. Which I thought was brilliant as a twist on the heros journey.

Going to have to re-read this. I totally forgot about the 'team' of players hunting as well.

I was really worried the film would have difficulty matching the tone/look of the book but I was pleasantly surprised by this trailer. Is Spielberg having fun again?

If he was having fun making The BFG, I hope he never has fun again.

I can't believe someone was able to check the time circuits in the DeLorean.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
