I dunno, I think that if you're able to assimilate that into your own experience then that's the key. Personally I'm able to do that. Maybe you're just romantically dead inside?

If all it takes to save hack songs of that nature is the ability to assimilate it into your own experience, then shouldn't we also be real hot for that "I found a reason for me to be who I want to be" song, or perhaps My Life Would Suck Without You?

I don't know those songs. But hey man, you can identify with whichever songs you like. The freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.

This song is musically cheesy as hell, but it's written and arranged more interestingly than something like Come Back. I guess cheesy as hell isn't a deal-breaker for me.

It's far too long for an album which is clearly not going to be a classic.

Before they start this song, I think someone shouts 'Brendan, you're much too loud', at which point he turns down his keyboard. The fact that he's still too loud after he's done that makes me feel a little better that his part will be mixed down in the music.

They're on the thread somewhere.

Just Breathe and The End are probably the best songs on Backspacer. Aw-huh.

There we go - needed the seesaw to even out on that one a little bit. And save your "it should have been an Ed solo song" spiel. We get it, move on. It's on the album, it's really good and it's not going anywhere.

The first "It should've been an Ed solo song" was Elderly Woman. We can also add Indifference, probably. The accusation never held water with me, let alone making any waves. As far as I'm concerned, any member of PJ is welcome to write whatever they want and call it a PJ song, as long as it's good.
