A little surprised to see that Reddick didn't make the lineup today, actually. He's had plenty of productive AB's this season to justify being a regular guy by now and he doesn't really need rest this soon after the all star break I wouldn't thinkcutuphalfdead wrote:sucks about correa

So.....I've really enjoyed watching this team, but they're not ready for prime time. I'd like to keep Dozier. I think now is the time to deal Santana, though. Thoughts?
Also, did you happen to catech Morneau in the booth and during the pregame on Tuesday? He was fucking fantastic!

I'd like to keep Dozier too. Polanco would probably be his replacement at 2B if he were to be traded and I'm not sold on Polanco at all. Dozier isn't having the monster year he had last season but he's still pacing 26 HRs and 80+ RBI. That's pretty damn good out of the lead off spot.
Santana? Well if the Twins are in first place (or within a couple of games) at the trade deadline I'd be shocked if he was traded. I agree that the club isn't yet "ready for prime time" but after the abyss that has been the last several Twins seasons I find it very difficult to believe that management would go into sell mode if the division is in play. That said, if they can get a haul for Santana, I'd be tempted to move him too. I think it is far more likely that the Twins make a small trade of two for bullpen help or another Back of the rotation guy. Something that doesn't involve any top tier prospects leaving the organization. My dream scenario involves trading a package with Granite or Rosario (and other pieces) for Sonny Gray. It's not going to happen, but I'd pop a nut if it did.
I did get to see all of the Morneau stuff. He was my favorite Twin when he was on the team. He seems like such a genuinely good dude. I thought he did a great job. I hope he shows up on broadcasts more often (anything to get less of Bert is a plus!).
Fuck the Yankees! Go Twins!

I don't think the Brewers are ready either, BUT, the way MLB looks this season? the NL is totally up for grabs. I mean the Nats and Dodgers look strong, but after that... And who knows, anything can happen if ya make the post season so why not go for it. I always go back to the Sabathia trade. Without him, the Brewers don't make the playoffs. And the only player that they gave up, that ended up being worth anything, was the player to be named later Michael Brantley.PHATJ wrote:Just a half game out of first place! Twins buy Jaime Garcia (5M remaining or so) and Anthony Recker (C) from the Braves for Huascar Ynoa a 19 year old pitching prospect.
Pretty nice deal for the Twins mid season.

I hope he can be decent, the Twins are desperate for starting pitching.Electromatic wrote:Twins buy Jaime Garcia (5M remaining or so) and Anthony Recker (C) from the Braves for Huascar Ynoa a 19 year old pitching prospect.

It's just nice to see our club buying in late July. Summer in Minnesota is awesome, but it's incredible to me how much better it is when the Twins are fun to watch.PHATJ wrote:I hope he can be decent, the Twins are desperate for starting pitching.Electromatic wrote:Twins buy Jaime Garcia (5M remaining or so) and Anthony Recker (C) from the Braves for Huascar Ynoa a 19 year old pitching prospect.

Re: MLB
I really hope the Astros don't trade for Darvish like the latest rumors suggest. I can totally see us busting in the playoffs yet again, opening up the Rangers to buy him back next season and have Darvish AND our prospects. That would be less than ideal.
