It says a lot that Republicans are so content to stand by and watch him burn one of their own like this.

He was the only senator to endorse Trump before it was obvious he was going to win the nomination. Everyone else has got to know that they're half a heartbeat away from the same criticism.

This one almost reads like a telegram:

If it's fear that holds their tongues, then they're cowards on a level that's hard to even comprehend. The majority of them are more popular in their home states than he is, some by very wide margins, and unless he can fire you his criticisms and complaints have amounted to nothing literally every time.

On the other hand, they've allowed fear of financial backlash among key donors to talk them into continuing forward with a bill that polls at 17% favorability, causes huge lasting demo problems, and rallies the opposing party like free cookies. So.

More direct version of Paul Ryan's responses this AM: If Trump fires Sessions in order to get to Mueller, that's fine.

:nice: to Seth Meyers who called Scaramucci the human embodiment of a pinky ring who definitely calls waitresses "sweetheart."

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

That would require the White House to actually do something. Still waiting on that...

That was very impressive. You've heard that before. But here you learn the rewards of hard work and perseverance, never, ever give up. Never quit. Persevere. Never, ever quit. You learn the satisfaction of building a roaring campfire, reaching a mountain summit or earning a merit badge after mastering a certain skill. There's no better feeling than an achievement that you've earned with your own sweat, tears, resolve, hard work. There's nothing like it. Do you agree with that?
He left off 10 things that a Scout is ... helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Is Trump ANY of those things?

Seriously. I was thinking about that this morning: Look at everything he's done since January and it's a whole lot of nothing. Lots of signing things but actual legislation?

They're toeing the line right now on creating a legal precedent that would resonate indefinitely. The steps they've achieved in regards to dininishing or distorting various important agencies will embolden future shitheads to do the same. Reducing press access, inviting and even praising fringe, literally fake news agencies, refusing to call out White violence against minorities...these are not inconsequential events.

It's not just the administration, either, but also the legislators who feel they have some cover and support to do the unthinkable. The health care vote...not the bill itself (is there one?), but the manipulations being used to hide and contort it...is the loudest example. But going after the budget office, for example, should be a huge red flag to anybody.
