Dany turning her attention to Varys' loyalty really showed her growing insanity. Mad King 2.0: The Queen Remix. Theon... Maybe he'll get one last chance at redemption? I like the Bran is the Night King theory, too. Puts a tragic twist on the entire story. Looks like a dragon will most definitely die. I can see LF try to convince Sansa to overthrow Jon and get his karmic justice. I hope Arya gets to do the deed. Jorah The Explorer will return! Gendry should be returning soon too, I would think? Cersei going into the War swinging, thanks to Euron. I'm looking forward to seeing next week's episode!

At what point does redemption become irrelevant, though? Theon is a child-killer and left the last of his family for dead--even if he kills Euron or saves someone important, are we all going to say, "Oh, Theon, you were alright in the end"?

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I won't. Whatever becomes of Theon, he brought on himself. He screwed the Starks over to get approval from his father, which he would've never gotten. TV shows do love to do a big redemption, though. I can't see them just leaving his story like this, seeing as how much focus he's had throughout the series. Where will he go, back to Dragonstone? We'll get to see him grovel to Jon, most likely. That should be interesting. Theon will probably sacrifice himself in some way for the war, I imagine? I do hope that whatever he does, it takes out Euron. That guy... I'm finally getting started on the books, so there's a lot for me to discover, as far as the story's concerned.

Not that kind of redemption. I like Euron better than many of his opponents, and a lot of the characters are child killers incl Daenarys. I am talking about for Theon personally. A last victory for him. Last Greyjoy standing.

When I first started reading this series, there was a sense that every character thread would somehow converge to bring everything to its logical, explosive conclusion. But as the show has unfolded, I'm feeling like some of these characters and stories are less important, and could perhaps have been done away with entirely. If all we get out of Theon and Euron's story is A) Theon is forever a broken man and B) Euron is hungry for power; and then if they fight each other and one or both of them die; wouldn't that be pretty stupid?

I really hate the Euron storyline.

And the books have a lot more tangents and characters, and have not gotten as far as the series.

Yeah, and I'm curious if Euron is more compelling in the books? I stopped after ASOS. But I can't stand his story on the tv show -- it just seems like another diversion from the characters I care about, and he's so over the top. After Ramsey Bolton and Cersei Lannister, Euron doesn't seem especially bad or scary; just like a garden variety bad guy who's got too much screen time.

Euron is cooler in the books. He also has a brother named Victarion. Their relationship is complex, but much more interesting than anything in the show.

Victarion is my favorite Greyjoy. Most of the best book characters are involved in the tv show, so it's a shame that they dropped him.

What trag said is exactly the same issues I have with how he was introduced in the show. I wish they'd brought him in sooner, because I'd seen book readers mention him before and was excited to see him in the show. Now that he's here, I just want him dead. He is going to give Cersei a chance to even the odds against Dany, though.

Speaking of Dany, she creeps me out more every episode.
