Minor update: my burner in making sweet love to these SmartBuy whitetop BD-DLs. Three for three. Now I'm even trying crazy stuff like switching to faster write speeds, shaking the PC while burning, unplugging the UPS from the wall...

(some of these actions may or may not be true, but they ARE burning well!)
