you sure that 40% is accurate, dime? Could you source that, please? I'm interested.

40% is the number that was being thrown around by most media outlets at the time. I don't take issue with his citing of that number. Where I do take issue is the idea that Tony Gilroy shot all of that 40%. That simply can't be true. Gilroy wasn't brought in until the final homestretch. AND the reason he was "behind the camera" for the final leg of reshoots was TO GIVE EDWARDS THE TIME HE NEEDED IN THE EDITING BAY.

It's also worth nothing that Gilroy isn't some random guy Disney hired to fix a bad movie; he and Edwards had already worked together in a similar capacity on Godzilla.

And as a side note, I love Gilroy in general. He's one of my all-time favorite screenwriters and a killer director in his own right.

It's not. A second director was brought in to finish the film. It was taken off Edwards by most accounts. I don't know if it helped but here we are.

ok. I'm done. But for the record, Edwards wasn't asked to leave while Gilroy reshot 40% of the film, ALMOST HALF. If you truly believe that then I don't know what to say. But you are right, dime. You are the resident "expert" apparently at all thing SW.
