I've always found Jorah to be super creepy in this regard. I'm not looking forward to it at all.

He's got to have some great purpose for the final battles. However creeptastic he is will never top Bran's current status...Poor dude. That scene between he and Sansa was interesting. It makes me wonder if he sees the darkness within her and that was what sent her over the line? I had a friend that ate too much acid and Bran reminded me of him last night.. I wonder if we'll see the Jon/Bran reunion this season? Arya should be there by next week, I would think? What was up with Varys? I'm torn on whether or not he's actually a traitor now..

They keep using the name "Night King" this season, probably more times than in seasons 5 and 6 combined. It emphasizes that they don't know his name (just like the Night's King, a different character from the book who many people theorize is a Stark), which could be setting up a big reveal. But I still don't buy it.

He and Tormund are going to try and capture a wight/White Walker alive and return it to Dragonstone to get Dany's support. It makes sense now that they cut Thorne's trip to King's Landing with the hand from the show.

Thorne is still sent to KL in the show with the hand. They just never actually show that trip.

I think you're right; for some reason, I thought he was sent to East Watch or something.

After Jon saves Jeor, the old bear smirks telling Jon he sent Thorne to KL to get him off Jon's back. He returns with Janos Slynt

I'd need to do a longer, non-phone post to explore this, but with all of the religions in Westeros and beyond, only the old gods and the red god seem to have any actual connection to anything supernatural/spiritual/metaphysical. As the show has pulled away from the books, we've learned that the Others have an intimate connection with the Children who seem to be in touch with the old ways; so if the red god wars against the Others and the powers behind them, it transitively is anti-the Children and old gods too, right? Where I'm going is that Bran and the 3-Eyed Crow would certainly appear adversarial from Mel's perspective. I'm wondering if that will create problems if/when Dany and the dragons come north.

1. I loved all the Dragonstone scenes. Only problem is the time it takes to travel there from Winterfell, compared to other things happening. But ok, let's disregard that. It's tv. Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Varys, so many good scenes. They did the whole kneeling or not well. Worst scenes were the ones about dragonglass, the mood sort of changed in an awkward way.

2. King's Landing was ok. The best scene was the torture scene. Very interesting. I expect there will be a twist there, perhaps an escape. Also a nice little rivalry between Euron and Jamie. Should be fun to watch.

3. Nice seeing Winterfell again, and Sansa doing a great job, then finally reunited with Bran. The rest is meh, he's just too all knowing, even for fantasy. Good he kept the truth about Jon for now.

4. The citadel. Jorah's story makes little sense, perhaps all so that Sam could save him.

5. The battles of Casterly Rock and Highgarden were awful. Too rushed in every way. Bad storytelling as well. But the twist was pleasing.

6. Decent scene at the end with Jamie and Olenna. Strange we didn't see her die.

7. Worst episode this season, but easily the best entertainment around (tv and movies).
