I can't see the Chinese standing idly by while a US invasion force is on their doorstep. Let China deal with North Korea. The US fabricating another war simply to try distract from how god awful Trump is as a apresident will be the biggest and probably last worst decision ever made.

Do you really, really think China would fight the combined US/SK/Japanese militaries over North Korea? Especially when they are locked in a standoff with India over Bhutan and their southern neighbors over the South China seas? Or are you implying they would use nuclear weapons?

I'm not sure we'll see a traditional large scale war in this case. It would escalate a lot quicker to nuclear.

VPs have very little constitutional power. They break ties in the Senate and are first in line of succession. Am I missing anything? 99% of what the VP does is either by tradition, ceremonial, or diplomatic. It'd be easy to neuter a VP from another party (except in Senate ties).
