Suggest new bands.
A big hello to Pearl jam addicts from Toronto. I’ll always be grateful to my ex for introducing me to Pearl Jam. ‘Black’ is my all time favorite. And it’s the only thing helping me now. He passed away a month before and I’m still in grief. I was addicted to everything that numbs the pain including alcohol and drugs. Now I’m on the path of recovery. I’m attending sessions for alcohol addiction treatment along with guitar lessons. The only things I’m depending on are music and books. Vedder’s vocals are magic. They heal me. Thoughts kill. I’m trying to overcome the pain and loss caused. Anathema and Opeth are other bands I hear. Suggest some music in the same genre. Thanks

Re: Suggest new bands.
Welcome to RM. I am sorry about your ex.
Pearl Jam, Anathema and Opeth do cover a fairly wide range of rock bands, so there are literally hundreds we could recommend.
We are about to start a tournament here with the bands Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and Smashing Pumpkins. There's a good chance that your ex liked several of these bands, as they became popular around the same time as Pearl Jam did, and are all rock bands.
With Anathema I always think of Porcupine Tree. A very good band for that genre. Anathema have supported them on tour.
Not a big fan of Opeth myself. But they are talented. No doubt about that.
Best of luck with your recovery.

A mod can probably move the thread there.
