What a fuckin' awesome gig. Read most of this thread, glazed over some of the rest, but this was the craziest Pearl Jam gig I've ever seen. So many rarities and new songs, met tons of great people in the rain, saw my old buddy from high school I hadn't seen in 16 years who was attending his first show with his wife, and even had Brendan O'Brien flash me plumber's crack in O'Hare the following morning. For all the whining, it was a killer two days in Chicago.

I'm starting to wonder if I was just a bad patch of the crowd given all the more upbeat takes on it of the last few reviews...

I'd like to avoid recordings of the new songs unless they're high quality (tried the Youtube videos, decided to wait for something better). Considering we still don't have PJ20, they'll probably save this for a special holiday release, at the absolute earliest?
My guess is we'll get London in about a month or so. They'll tie Chicago to the album's release and it will become available then.

This makes sense. There is no need to delay to Wrigley because of the new material, but using the boot as a promotional tool for the new album would be smart.

Rolling Stone dubbed it "Epic".
saw another write up saying they "blazed" their way through the fist 7 songs. What?

Regardless, this was a great show. I am truly glad to have been there, my minor gripes aside.

agreed, just found it funny that someone would say they "blazed" considering what songs were sung.
A for effort from PJ.
As others have said if they would have replaced Bugs, Setting Forth, Eruption, and RITFW- imo that would have made the show significantly better.

:haha:

nevertheless, i found this to be maybe the best live version of low light i've heard. seems slowed down a bit - closer to the album speed - and everything seems more on key.
