Remake: Death Wish

Post by LoathedVermin72 »

Eli Roth has matured into a genuinely interesting filmmaker and this looks pretty great.

I don't know. The tone feels way off. There's no weight to it. Like it's making light of some pretty heavy topics. Willis looks kinda like he's phoning it in again. Maybe it's a "fun" movie. But I'm not sure I like the idea of a "fun" movie about a topic like this. I'll pass.

Roth is a full-on social satirist now. There's gonna be more going on here than people expect.

I'll take your word for it. Maybe it'll be a cool movie. But I'm just not interested from that trailer. We'll see. I'll be interested in your thoughts, as usual.

Bruce murdering the fuck out of bad guys sounds good, but he's no Bronson.

Something about the clean shaved head and face makes Bruce look less tough. Needs more stubble.

Given Roth's politics, you should probably skip this one. Awful gender rolls.

Yeah, it's weird. I anticipate some half-cocked 'vigilantes' going into a strange neighborhood and killing some civilians. If they live to get arrested, they'll cite this movie as an inspiration.

That trailer is confusing. Is this a comedy about a vigilante killing people?
