Wow I got a heavy wave a nostalgia going through this thread. I used to be really into Fugazi but I don't think I've listened to any of their albums in at least a decade. Steady Diet of Nothing was my first. I gotta rediscover these guys.

I've been digging the fuck out of these guys lately.
I'm surprised that End Hits seems often labeled as one of their worst, I fucking love that one.

"End Hits" is very good, but everything else in their discography is at least "great." They essentially only have six studio albums + "13 Songs" and four of those (13 Songs, Repeater, Red Medicine and The Argument) are pretty much instant classics.
"End Hits" really lags in the middle and features some of their most unfocused material. It lacks the urgency that's really Fugazi's signature.
That being said, "Break" and "Five Corporations" are among their best and "Arpeggiator" is fantastic.

I seem to be into their latter albums the most.

I'm getting to the later stuff soon. The Argument is next up on my "now playing" list.

If they never record again, I'm willing to say "The Argument" is the best "exit" album in rock history.
"The Woods" would have that spot if S/K would have stopped there.

Re: The all things 'Fugazi' thread.
Checking out In On The Kill Taker. Man, I love these guys. I never will forget how I first discovered them. I'd had the Pearl Jam bootleg Ultra Rare Trax Vol. 1, I think? Anyway, there was a track where Ed sampled Suggestion. A couple of years later I was sitting in a coffee shop and they were playing 13 Songs. As soon as I heard Ian's spoken word part in Suggestion, I perked up from familiarity and had to know who this band was.
I've got some RHCP bootlegs and they've done a couple of Fugazi covers. They performed Waiting Room in its' entirety when Dave Navarro was in the band and Latest Disgrace was played by John as an intro to Parallel Universe a few times between 2002-2003. I've always preferred Ian's voice over Guy's, but I love them both now. I'm really loving IOTKT.

The show "Night Flight" on the USA Network had a doc about Suicidal Tendencies touring (back when they were actually punk). They stopped by D.C. and hung out with Ian and Minor Threat. They played "Betray" in the doc and I was blown away. I went out and got "Out of Step" the next day.

yeah, the cover of End Hits is beautiful. And is such a cool album..the sound, the looseness, the overall vibe of a band jamming and going trough different motions..i would say its the record that fits what i love about Fugazi the most.
