even we dont 100% know that
what would be the point of bran travelling to that exact moment in time if not to hear the exchange between young ned and his sister, then? red herring for the sake of what?

we don't know yet. We know that Jon has dragon blood in him from inference and that should come into play otherwise its a useless narrative. I was more speaking towards Anders saying Jon is the "real heir" which isn't so black and white because for all we know, he is a bastard. A stark and a targaryean bastard, but still a bastard.

without saying anything that comes strictly from the books, thats almost all i can say about it and any theories without possibly spoiling things for show only fans.

as in his parents were not married? I guess so, but if they were, would jon have more claim than dany? I guess i dont follow along in this thread as much as everyone else

i thought the book storyline hasnt gotten as far as the show yet, even with whatever differences between the two?

If they were married Jon absolutely has more claim. The son of the first son comes before the second son.

if they were married, yes, the son of the eldest prince would come before a princess. I think it has only been largely inferred that Rhaegar was his father and even so, the story that most people know in Westeros is that he kidnapped Jon's mother. Unless there were witnesses to a marriage, it would be hard to sell someone like that as a rightful heir.

Ok, so rhaeygar is the first son of the mad king ? Isn't dany the daughter of the mad king? Maybe im screwing up the blood lines ? Would dany be less of an heir because she's female? Id assume?

if i had to guess, Jon's true parentage probably has something to do with his connection to either dragons or the prophecy of Azor Ahai/The Prince that Was Promised

See after this series is done, i may have to read the books even though i dont enjoy Martin's writing, which pisses me off and makes me want more of the story to be told on the show, dammit

Mad King had 3 trueborn children:
Rhaegar, Viserys, Daenerys

Rhaegar had 2 known children:
Rhaenys and Aegon

Rhaegar is the first son, and heir to the mad king. When he died his children became next in line. It doesn't go to his siblings until all his children (and their children) are gone. So after his kids were smashed against the wall by Gregor Clegane, Viserys (Rhaegar's younger brother and Dany's older brother) became heir to the Iron Throne. When he died on the Dothraki Sea Dany becamse heir.

If Jon is a legitimate child of Rhaegar it was his turn before Viserys and Dany.

The show has already passed over so much of the story it's worth reading the books if you can handle his writing style. Especially book 4 and on.

I love his writing when he keeps it tight. There are chapters in Feast/Dance that I can read over and over again.

I can't wait for Mary to be pissed off at everything the show did after Tywin's death.
