New celebration rock podcast discusses the shitness of this album. The middle of the album is so dire. There are about four tracks that are listenable but not at all particularly good.

I'm not sure what is happening with that band. I do t know how they could have left the studio believing that this is the best album they could have made. Unless it's back to old days of 3-4 singles plus 6 filler tracks. I still believe they are a band that could do another good album even though there hasn't been an album I've loved as a whole. Always just 4-5 tracks.

Everything Now
Signs of Life
Put Your Money On Me
We Don't Deserve Love

But really all of these are very average. You could miss the album completely and all would be fine.

These guys killed it at lollapalooza last night. The new songs sound significantly better live. Lots of tracks from funerals. Reflektor was a highlight too. Good shit.

Heard a bit of their set on Sirius/XM on the way to work this morning. They sounded great, though I didn't hear any of the new songs.

I'm not a big fan of them, but I don't hate this one as much as many do. Some of the music is good, but those lyrics are pretty unlikeable.

I like this comment on the Lollapalooza video:
For people of the future: For a brief time in 2017, it was cool to hate Arcade Fire. Then their tour started.

Just thinking how amazing it would be if this bands albums had been released in reverse chronological order and Funeral was the new one.

Same with most bands though probably.

I've been watching this one. It really is an incredible show. Makes me forget about this pretty crappy new album. Gonna have to get tix to the MSG show.

WHen I heard reflektor it to me was the sound of people taking a shit and then tucking into it without napkins.

Then I saw the live show for it and it all made sense and I heard the wonder.

Can they do that again with this one? God I hope so. They only played a couple of songs at the shows I saw last month.

Even they realize there's only 4 good songs on the album.

:? reflektor is a great album. its kinda dense but not sure how anyone would compare it to shitting then tucking it somewhere or whatever you're talking about?

They're as dogshit live as they are on the record. Indie rock's answer to Slipknot, 10 motherfuckers making a bunch of unlistenable noise onstage.
