I don't know if this is common knowledge in Twin Peaks land, but did you guys know that the 1947 movie Born to Kill revolves around the murder of a young, blonde woman named Laurie Palmer?

I think I remember learning that on one of the mini docs shared via YouTube in this thread. What kind of character was she?

I finally got to watch the latest episode!

What in the world is going on with Audrey??? I get more of a counselor vibe out Charlie than a husband vibe. . .

I saw one theory that it's a scene. That she did go off and become an actress and we're seeing rehearsals or filming for a new TV show a la Invitation to Love. Which is an awesome idea, I think. I love that.

But, really, I hope it's something far weirder. We'll see. Either way, I'm hooked and it's so nice to see Sherilyn back.

I've read that theory as well. I would be completely okay with it, but I think I like the idea that she is another severely damaged Twin Peaks character even more.

They need to work Wally in there once more before it's all said and done.

Reading Catching the Big Fish has offered some interesting insights. So many themes and connections.

On a different note... have you guys been thinking about the timeline here. Obviously i's not always completely linear. But HOW mixed up is it? Someone pointed out the instances of Diane wearing her red top in once scene and a green top in another scene in the same Part. Is it possible that things are really out of order and almost random even within the individual strands we're seeing. For example, did the scene were the initiated Diane into the Blue Rose Task Force actually happen BEFORE they went out to the house in the desert and she saw the Woodsman eat Hastings?

I haven't really been tracking that kind of stuff. But there are many more examples, times when it seems like days have passed but that isn't possible. Bobby's storyline has some of these oddities too. Anyway, I think I'm going to try and track more of this moving toward the final home stretch.

"It's like Ghostwood here," Audrey says to Charlie. Coupled with all the "I feel like myself and I don't" and not knowing where the Road House is and Charlie saying, "should I end your story, too." Makes it pretty clear to me that things are not what they seem. Audrey has some sort of memory issue. Is she in counciling? Is she in a different world/dimension/consciousness? Is she still in that coma? Fascinating.

But I really want more info on that first line I quoted. What does that mean? How is it like Ghostwood? Does that sentiment tie into whatever the fuck is happening with Jerry Horne? Is Jerry in Ghostwood?

I'm curious to see how the strange timeline actually plays out. Personally I hope it is explained, but I could also see it being a situation like Kubrick's impossible rooms in The Shining - something there to purposefully create a sense of unease and confusion.

Same.

Speaking of weird shit...

I didn't notice this but saw online today... did you guys notice Big Ed's reflection in the closing scene? Ed's drinking soup. He sets the soup down and sits completely still. Then something catch's his eye. He looks out at the gas pumps and the cars driving by. It's an over the shoulder shot. We see Ed sitting completely still. But his reflection between the two pumps lifts the soup to his mouth and drinks.

It's choppy. It could just be a weird editing thing. But it looks completely intentional. And it almost looks like that's what catch's Ed's attention in the first place. Does he see that? Is that what makes him burn the match book? It's so weird. And I totally missed it when I watched the episode.

"We are like the dreamer who dreams and lives inside the dream, but who is the dreamer?”

These last several episodes have been incredible. This one takes the cake. Hopefully I'll have something solid to contribute later, but right now I'm going to hit the hay and let this all marinate.

Jesus Christ, Sarah. So the "Mother" - or whatever that thing is - is inside of her?

This episode felt like a Roberto Bolano novel. Stories contained within stories, and all of the action making me ask if any of that really happened at all. By the time I got to the shocking Sarah scene at the end, I'd almost forgotten that thing Diane revealed or that weird screaming bit the Vegas FBI agent did in the beginning.
Twin Peaks at it's best.

Was it just me or was that window washer scene vaguely creepy? The silhouette kind of moved around like a shadowy monster. Classic Lynch.

Tammy suggested tulpas after guessing at the significance of Blue Rose. I would never have known what a tulpa was if the concept hadn't been introduced to me on a Reply All podcast a while back. A conjured companion...more complicated than an imaginary friend.

Here's the podcast episode if anyone cares to check it out.
