Why is this just 7 episodes again? A money issue, right? This way they can pay the actors less overall? Lame.

This is what I want to know...same shit happened with Boardwalk Empire. Both series still at the top of their game (okay debatable), but these seem to be rushing to a conclusion. Just trying to figure out why. I mean the show is a ratings giant, why not finish with two whole seasons when there's still plenty of story and character evolution. (or so it seems) to play with. Overall still enjoyed the episode but would definitely agree it felt super rushed. Also, why the hell wouldn't they take Ghost on this quest beyond the Wall? Too little Direwolf action....

Can we talk about how colossally dumb it is to march eight horseless people into the North to try to capture one wight against thousands? For several seasons they have been building up how powerful and unstoppable this zombie horde is, yet Jon is totally on board with ranging north of the wall again. I'm sure it will be quite a spectacle and very thrilling, but there is no logic to it.

Why do they need Cersei again?

Why don't they just fly a dragon or two north of the wall to capture a wight and hightail it out of there?

I'm already mad the Hound is going to die on this suicide mission for no reason.

If I'm not mistaken, Dany still doesn't fully believe in the white walkers, so that is why she isn't sending a dragon?

re: horseless dudes. A small, tactical force that could sneak in and sneak out quietly while snatching one might make less noise than a shitload of dudes attacking and trying to keep one alive, all while running from the horde.

Yeah I don't get why Cersei needs to be convinced. They should fortify Moat Cailin to fend off any potential attack from the south, and then focus on what's going on with the WW themselves. If Dany needs proof first she can go for a dragon flight north of the wall and see them.

Yup and have a dragon or two patrol the coast for Euron's fleet. It's not like the Ironborn are going to go too far inland anyway.

I get the small force if you're sneaking in to grab something from a fixed position, but you're trying to grab a zombie from an army with powerful ice wizard leading the charge. Shit's going to be hard.

You're not. The episodes have been longer too. Next season's will be mini-movies from what they've said (80 minutes or so).
