I remember being blown away that the rage guys were capable of doing this music that was so much Cornell´s vision. It brought a new depth to them.
Oh and Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye is just huge. Inmense. That ending...
Totally agree.
I have a good friend who really loves Classic Rock and oldies. It was like pulling teeth to get him into anything I liked during the 90s. But he fellin love with Euphoria Morning. And when Audioslave came out, he was so excited. I bought the record and played it for him and I thought he was gonna shit his pants. He hated it SO much. HATED it.
He said, "I mean, clearly this isn't the music Chris Cornell wants to make. This is just a means to get back in the public eye so he can make the music he really wants to make."
I said, "What does he really want to make? Euphoria Morning 2?"
"Well, yeah. Obviously. He clearly loves that kind of music and he's so great at it. This is garbage. He can't possibly want to make this."
I was all, "Um... you do remember he was in Soundgarden right?"
