From what I've been told, (which could always change, of course) this will be an off-world adventure for Obi Wan.

He wasn't just sitting around for 20 years, watching over Luke.
He also mentioned that Joel Edgerton has expressed interest recently in returning a Owen Lars. :heartbeat:

Obi wan going off on adventures seems rather dangerous all things considered!

That could be interesting but I feel the story to tell is the internal struggle he faces dealing with rise of the empire and the failure of the jedi.

Someone floated the idea on collider that Vader could be in this?

Obi wan assumes Anakin died on mustafar. What if it's Vader hunting for him as part of the purge?

What if they're making Rey his granddaughter and they do a Hobbit on it?
(The original/old Bilbo telling frodo In the present day, i never told you the whole truth) and have the film start off with Luke sitting Rey down telling her the tale of obi wan (from his journals) and it dissolves into the past and goes from there with luke as narrator?

That would be cool.

I don't think that would work. In the first movie, Vader seems surprised about Obi-Wan's presence on the Death Star. And Obi-Wan tells Luke his certain-point-of-view truth about Vader/Anakin on Tattooine, so I don't think at all that Kenobi thinks Anakin. He certainly knows he's Vader.

Oh I know but when does he find that out is what I'm saying.

Oh. Gotcha.

That being said, I don't think I really want this to turn into a Kenobi vs Vader flick.

Again listening to collider and they made a great point. They think and I agree fandom would be open to Hayden's Vader being in this in some form. He got a rapturous reception at celebration. Whether he'd do it or not I don't think he would but who knows?

I think Vader might play a role though. Maybe Kenobi has to take out an inquisitor sent to find him or something? I really can't think of what sort of antagonist there'll be.

But maybe it won't be that kind of movie and will do something totally different. The director if he does get it is super character/drama focused. He's got Oscar nominations emmys tonys baftas coming out his ears like.

Vader will be in it. He looms over the galaxy. Vader was used perfectly in Rogue One and i suspect he will be used briefly yet powerfully in an Obi Wan film.

I just don't want Vader and Obi-Wan interacting at all.

However, before their battle begins he says something "something something, last i saw you i was but the learner now i am the master...."

So, I dont think they would have been able to meet yet again after Mustafar in a period where Darth feels he was still the aprpentice of Obi Wan.

The possibilities for this are endless, I hope the bring Anouska into the movie, they totally can. They can show flashbacks of his past, shit even bring back fucking Qui Gon. As long as Mcgregor in onboard. I am in.
