Re: I'm Still Here
Isn't it another spoken word track ala I'm Open?
This was apparently included on the Japan release of Lost Dogs.
Gremmie net had/has it too, IIRC.

Re: I'm Still Here
If I remember correctly, it was the hidden track on a promo, early-release edition of LD and was only later replaced by 4/20/02. None of the Discogs listings have it as part of the release.Sgt. Crackpot wrote: This was apparently included on the Japan release of Lost Dogs.

I hate I'm Open, but this little narrative hit me pretty hard today. Been an emotional day and I've never heard it, and... well... I've been there.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:Isn't it another spoken word track ala I'm Open?

I'm Open is alright. I don't get the hate for it.Iholdthepain wrote:I hate I'm Open, but this little narrative hit me pretty hard today. Been an emotional day and I've never heard it, and... well... I've been there.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:Isn't it another spoken word track ala I'm Open?

Yeah I am really not a fan of this. Pretty cheesy poetry, particularly the very end. "Never been too good at happy endings".

Re: I'm Still Here
He's trying his best to sound earnest, but really doesn't. I think that's why these PJ tracks don't work that well for me.
Jim Morrison did these a little better.

True, but I think ed is a good storyteller, and it really struck a chord with me, being the first time I've heard it. Would I want to listen to it more than a handful of times ever? Probably not. Lets just chalk it up to good timing and a vulnerable moment.

the "I wanna smell you" part was confusing to me

I loved it. Was the soundtrack to my early 20's actually.Iholdthepain wrote:True, but I think ed is a good storyteller, and it really struck a chord with me, being the first time I've heard it. Special place in my heart. The music is hypnotic and i think its heartbreaking.

No... It's distant, the sounds are too distractable, and its not sincere. Also, it's vague, confusing, and makes me feel like I'm at one of those beat poetry coffee shop shows... Ick!tragabigzanda wrote:Hymn blows both of these out of the water:

Re: I'm Still Here
Not really, but I did see them at a club once. Is that the background noise, I suppose? The set had moments of swell crescendos, but overall I thought it sucked.tragabigzanda wrote:Were you a Hovercraft fan at all?Iholdthepain wrote:No...
