Holy shit yes.
I did this. It was cool. I've seen Beck several times, so this was all about the venue. Hiked to Emerald Lake in the afternoon, saw the show in the evening, drove to Omaha overnight.
Did you camp at lake mcconaughy? In Ogallala? You should have.

You loved red rocks, yea?

I'm not much of an outdoorsman. My wife and I took 2 weeks and took our 10 and 7 year old to the Badlands, Devil's Tower, Glacier, Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Dinosaur Monument, and Rocky Mt. Did the Notch trail in the Badlands, climbed to the base of the Devil's Tower, hiked in Two Medicine , drove Going to the Sun Road , and horseback rode in Glacier, drove around Yellowstone and saw Old Faithful, hiked Quuens/Navajo in Bryce, Delicate Arch and Two Windows in Arches, and Emerald Lake in RMNP. In previous summers we've done Smoky Mts, Mammoth Caves, and Everglades. We're getting a taste of everything. And yes, I loved Red Rocks.

Awesome! I've not yet seen a show at Red Rocks. Someday! Your whole vacation sounds great. I did a similar vacation when I was married and my oldest was about nine months old. It was pretty great and I remember it fondly. Like you, I've seen Beck a lot (maybe more than any other artist), but seeing a Beck show at Red Rocks would be amazing.

Yeah, yeah. If we were there for any period of time, I would have tried. I had to make the decision between Red Rocks and driving the Trail Ridge Road for lack of time. I don't understand how you can live there. It's beautiful, but 30 miles takes an hour.

Thats one of the reasons why I chose not to live in Denver. It is pretty awful but LV is definitely right.

What'd you think of Trail Ridge Road? Did you go up the dirt road and down the highway?

I chose the Beck show instead. Trail Ridge Road is the only thing on the whole vacation I planned on but then skipped. Tbh, we just didn't need more time in the car, and we were all happy with Emerald Lake as our RMNP memory.

If Chud finds this page, this thread is going to get merged with the travel thread.

You would be most welcome!

I could try and arrange to have you as a visiting Yoga instructor at the Yoga place next door to my office - could make the trip tax deductible for ya? And I could do your tax while you are here - double-deductible!

Hell, the way this is going the US Government may find it cheaper to just pay for your trip down here outright and be done with it!

Also I bought a ticket to see Jason Isbell without realizing that they're coming to town the same day as U2 and Beck. :? :? :?

Saw Counting Crows and Matchbox Twenty last night. Surprised those two bands could manage 15,000 people.

Counting Crows played 1hr 20mins at a very rushed fro them pace. No ramblings by Adam not any extended songs.

Matchbox Twenty closed the show and played 1hr 40mins. Surprised to see how popular the band with only 4 albums over 20 years is. They surprised me with how tight and enjoyable they were.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Kind of feel like this thread and "Concerts you've been to recently" should be merged
