D'arnoud and Cabrera switched positions 22 times.

Here’s how the official box score read for d’Arnaud: 3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B-2B-3B. That’s 22 position changes in a single game.

The Jays did it twice in the late 80s. Once with Gruber and Borders (13 changes) and once with Gruber and Fielder (18 changes).

When Cecil Fielder starts at 2B, it makes sense to move him wherever he's least likely to have to make a play.

Very cool. I was just reading the bare bones box score with innings runs hits and errors

Fun fact: they could have just physically changed positions on the field without making a change to the scorecard every time.

yeah but that makes the scorecard weird. a ball hit on the ground to the person effectively playing third base and then thrown to first for the out would be listed as a 4-3 putout instead of a 5-3 put out

How can I get my manager to flip players like that in the next tournament? That's the real question here.

Even when you pay, you can't do that.

He's really starting to hit (top 5 AL batting average since July 4).
