I watched Guardians of the Galaxy last night. Only Marvel thing I’ve seen beyond the Netflix TV stuff. I liked it.

Is the MCU worth exploring at this point if I enjoyed that one?

Sure!

Your mileage will vary with each film. But there's some great stuff to discover.

I have no idea how to advise a person who went 10 years without watching any one of these movies. That concept is so far from my imagination, that I can't gauge what you would and would not like.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

It's pretty easy, really. It all connects, sure, but not in any way that you couldn't pick up any random Marvel film and just watch it.

Maybe don't start with Avengers, Reid. Otherwise...

I just never got around to it and once The Avengers came out I just figured I'd missed the boat and never paid attention to releases after that. Now my wife wants me all caught up before the Thanos one this Summer, so I'm determined to do it right.

So far I've gone through GoTG and Iron Man. I'm thinking I'll just focus on watching all the Phase One stuff and then hit the main Avenger/GoTG sequels along with the main character sequels. I found a great Storywonk podcast series about the MCU that will satisfy the years of discussion I/m sure I missed out on. Kind of really looking forward to this.

Iron Man was much better than I expected it to be. So was Guardians of the Galaxy.

That being said, can I skip Hulk? I really don't like that character.

Many rank it towards the bottom of the Marvel heap. I really liked it, tho. I liked Norton as Banner, too. Although i do like the Ruffalo Hulk design better.

Ugh. So I guess I have to watch it then.

I'm doing this to appease my wife and catch up for Infinity War, but if I'm really being honest here, I kind of just want to have the proper context in which to fully enjoy Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Then just watch

Avengers
Avengers 2
Ant-Man
All three Captain America movies

I’d go ahead and do GotG 2 and Thor:Ragnarok just to get ready for the next Avengers flick. Don’t know yet how Black Panther ties in to it all.
