The band had him killed. They used the same guy Hillary uses.

Do you have one where he's not grating?
It is also just an unreleased demo/outtake. And, for what it is, its pretty fantastic.
I admit it proves the point they're capable of more, even in this dark age of lethargy.
The well is dry. Thus, the mining of an already released song: Sleeping By Myself.
Yeah, because there's no precedent of the band taking a solo Ed song either released or previously performed and making it their own...

I have it on good authority it was this guy:

I may be having a mental block, but what other previously released song did they put on a new album?

Not really officially "released" songs, but Betterman, Gone, and Can't Keep come to mind.

Let It Ride - heard this
The Bigger The Wave - heard this
We got the 10 Billion Years/Rearranged Furniture/Rearranged other stuff leak. Was there supposed to be other songs too?

There’s been a lot of push back like this on the new song, but it seems like no one has considered this possibility:

Maybe the band really likes the song.

Yeah I'm not sure. Just know that there were 11 songs on the disc he had that included CC and LiR. It could be those, I guess.

No, that was one of the first things I considered. The truth is, they don't like this song. Nobody likes this song.

Maybe they're out of ideas. Or maybe they just aren't inspired.

But let's not talk like everything Pearl Jam put out in the 90's was fucking profound. "Animal" is a guy counting to five and repeating the chorus over and over. He says the word "Spin" like 50 times in less than three minutes in Spin The Black Circle. So it's fine if you think Can't Deny Me sucks, cause it kinda does (I sorta like the chorus I have to admit), but spare me the "delve in the depth of their own souls" crap. It's just a rock band.

I’d hope there’s more because I’d love to hear them, but my guess is that we’ve gotten most if not all of them with that leak. Again, total guess, and I hope I’m wrong.

There was actual passion in Animal and Spin the Black Circle. You could feel they really meant it, and it meant something to the audience.

Wasn't Pendulum an outtake from Backspacer?

2004 was the last year of God-tier Pearl Jam.

Do we know that for a fact?
it came from the recording sessions site that seems to be (somehow, and creepily) accurate. of course, these might not count other sessions they might have had at private home studios, etc
I disagree. There was a studio version of Of The Earth. I heard it was part of the original tracklisting. It was replaced at the last moment with Sleeping By Myself.

Also, I don't buy the 'out of ideas' or 'uninspired' claims because I know with the talents of this band, if they sat down and worked on intricate guitar parts, even if the chords were somewhat boring, interesting drum patterns, calm Ed down and come up with some unretarded lyrics, it would be pretty good.

But who are you to say there isn't actual passion behind Can't Deny Me? What makes you think there's no passion behind it? Because it's simple? Because it sucks? Just judging by the vocal (as horrible as it may sound at times), he sounds pretty passionate about it all to me.

Oh you want "Unretarded lyrics." I get it now.

I mean, come on, you can't critique a songwriter and suggest you'd prefer "Unretarded lyrics."
