Isnt the 10C membership 20 bucks? You are paying alot more than 20 extra if you go through stubhub.

If the 10C guaranteed you tickets it might be a different story, but in my experience it guarantees nothing and provides very limited access otherwise. Plus there are years when the band doesn't come anywhere near me. Not worth even $20 to me (though I feel like I paid more the one year I joined).

We took the exact same approach on this matter.

Basically, there is no reason to be "in it for the tickets". Saying that is just a defense mechanism for your inner 15 year old who still wants to love this band.

In it for the tickets, but my 10c number is pretty good, so it makes a difference.

I dunno, for the Fenway shows it was pretty hard to get tickets outside of 10C without paying a huge markup, but maybe that's my inner 15 year old talking.

Yeah, after flunking out of the general sale, I checked for Wrigley 2018 tickets a few times and the prices were insane every time. Maybe they came down the day of the show as they tend to, but I had lost interest at that point.

In general I have a hard time paying what major attractions like Pearl Jam charge for tickets, any additional hassle like the 10C fees, lottery, not to mention having to fight traffic/parking around a baseball stadium, is just extra deterrent. I went and saw Bill Frisell last year for like $25, we parked in a free lot outside the venue and sat 5 feet away from him. It might just be my inner 55 year-old talking, but that type of thing is much more my speed these days.

I'm in it for the tickets.
I receive front 10 rows for every show i win. Well worth the $20 a year.
Even if i only end up seeing the band once every few years.

I guess the stadium shows are tough to get but those are just circle jerks for people like Theo Epstein. I'd much rather go to Alpine or a random arena.

The ticket "benefit" is pointless for me. I never get access to those for show I could reasonably attend. So, it's a waste. The vinyl was really the only thing keeping me in the game. *shrugs*

In all seriousness, the 10C does a great job with fanclub tickets and I would be sad to see them go. These new, simple, and free fanclubs are as exclusive as entering your email address and result in clusterfuck sales worse than the old F5 days with seats all over the building. Love it or hate it, the lottery is the fairest solution that usually works well, except if you have a GA or bust approach, or major-market or bust approach. Hell, the 10C even offered second-chance sales for several shows for fans who struck out in the lottery.

I never spun a Christmas single. I joined for the chance at fan-club tickets.


So the 10C has contracted with 3rd party vendors in recent years:
2013 they partnered with [???] for help with 10C ticket sales (lottery sales).
2013 they partnered with TSURT for help with tour merchandise.
2016 they partnered with Probity to help with European merch distribution.
2018 they partnered with Ticketmaster for paperless fanclub ticket distribution.

Slowly, but surely, they have been eliminating in-house 10C jobs with outside vendor contracts.

Seriously, I've never "won" fanclub tickets since moving to nyc in 2007.

I've only had fan club tickets since 2000. Its been wonderful.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 10C slowly wound down as membership inevitably drops off to a core of a few thousand (or few hundred?) long-term US-based members.

The band rarely tours (going on five years since they last played here and that was festivals only) and there's virtually no ticketing benefit outside of the US anyway.

the live cut is from the final edition of Monkey Wrench radio which will be thematically dedicated entirely toward insulting pearl jam's shitty fans

the tix is a huge advantage; my number lands me rows 1-2, 5-7, 10-12 multiple times at Ed solo shows and full PJ shows, including recent ones. my tix are usually on stubhub for $500 to $1,000.

when the 10c made rows 1-2 and 9-10 a true lottery, it did kind of fuck me though.

still, the digital membership is a small mark-up to pay for a concert tix.

I want to punch everyone who has success with and likes the ticketing system.
