What's the deal with Medium.com? I'm not sure how it works myself, but I've read some good stuff there. Garbage or legit?

It's just a publishing platform.

seems like it's curated somehow. Even the comments sections seem civil by internet standards.

Maybe you're not seeing the comments that were downvoted to hell? I don't know. I've seen all sorts of stuff on Medium. Some good and some garbage.

My sample size is small. I was just under the impression that it was something new or different.

Essentially, journalism and news judgement is now the consumer's job, not the news source.

This is what you wanted America.

Enjoy!

The irony involved with the right's reaction to CNN and the Russia investigation is mind-blowing.

They have spent the last 25 years tearing down journalism in this country and propping up a network and "brand" of news that basically relies solely on commentary. That brand of journalism now dominates ratings in the U.S. and is, in fact, the "mainstream."

So now that the other news outlets have followed their lead, the right calls their journalist integrity into question.

Are you fucking kidding me? These idiots have been getting their "journalism" from conservative talk radio, Fox News and Infowars for years.

Pointing out their obvious hypocrisy doesn't invalidate their argument. The Van Jones clip is significant in thy he goes on TV and says the opposite of what he believes. I believe those Fox News personalities actually think their spin is true.

I didn't say that it was invalid.

But do you believe all these people really believe the shit they spew? T.V. news is fucking theater.

The idea that anyone would hold T.V. news to some sort of journalist standard is a fucking joke.

The idea that anyone would hold print journalism to the same standard that we had 20 years ago is a fucking joke.

Americans decided they don't want quality journalism, so now we don't have it.
