Eight poll respondents know exactly what this song is. And does. Quite often.

Like the song, love Mike’s wailing. Top half of Riot Act.

i like how it starts a bit goofy, like ed didn't really understand the MC demo but respected it enough not to "fix" it

and like all riot act songs it builds and finishes strong.

This is an excellent Pearl Jam song.

I remember when RA first came out, I was sure this was going to be a single. I always thought it was super catchy.

They even made a tshirt for it. I wish they’d break it out now and again on tour

Get Right should have been sequenced towards the beginning of Riot Act. Put it as track 3 and it gives the record a much needed boost at the top. I feel the same way about Green Disease.

I’ve never been into it but I’m listening a lot to what Matt C has been doing so I need to check it out again

Mike is great on this one

Get Right is great as a studio track because of the almost magical excellence of the engineering of the entire Riot Act album. It sounds like sitting in the room while the band just plays. Every instrument is perfectly mic'ed and the final mix is no-bullshit and impeccably balanced. The drums and bass are out front in the verse like they should be, Mike McCready drops in a really fun solo and keeps riffing through the outro so the song finishes with more detail than it starts. So the song has a movement and structure, at least plenty for a sub 3:00 blitz.

The lyrics are objectively dumb.

Get Right suffers as a bootleg recording because the drums and bass -- the intended heart of the song -- aren't mixed more prominently. Probably an unfortunate by-product of releasing every show, I suspect the instrument levels are all pretty much set in a template and not much adjusted. So a song like Get Right endw up sounding a little heartless until Mike starts his thing. I mean, the entire verse, guitar-wise, is pretty much Stone playing one note to a rhythm. But he's further forward in the mix template so there you have it. And Mike never quite gets the solo timing right because the Riot Act studio process was designed to capture lightning in a bottle and they never played the song enough for him recapture that moment of inspiration from the studio.

The lyrics remain objectively dumb.

I know more people are coming around to this song, and I also understand why people would think it is bad. So in that regard, I apologize to all of you who love DM or Running that I've given a hard time to, because I absolutely love this song. It is funny how sometimes the "oddballs" hit with certain people. This is definitely in my personal top 10 PJ.

I just absolutely love the last 1:45 minutes of this song (from halfway through the second verse to the end). Pearl Jam at their best.

Although Ed fucks up the lyrics, I always liked the mix of this live version from Japan.
