Here’s my hot take now that this has set in:
These people are all human garbage and if any of this is putting money into the pockets of any of these people we should all be ashamed. The cats are basically treated as an afterthought in this whole thing, and while I get that it’s not necessarily meant to be a vehicle to champion animal rights or anything, all of this drama and “entertainment” comes at the expense of these animals.

I don't think so. If it were just another mopey animal abuse doc, no one would watch it. I think it's clear that these people are scum and shouldn't be owning animals. They just don't hit you over the head with it. They've reached more people going this route than focusing on the animals.
