I do like Grievance and I'm sure it will win (and I won't be disappointed) - but I will take MFC over Grievance all day every day. For me - it's personal/sentimental reasons that don't make it close, but hey - we all got our reasons.

We're not busy. Let's hear the personal/sentimental reasons.
Nothing too interesting. Long story short - my then girlfriend and I packed up literally all we owned, plus a cat and a dog, in a 1980 G20 3/4 ton Chevy van - headed out west and left our whole lives behind to start new. We had jobs lined up to work in Yellowstone that summer with no idea what we'd do once those jobs came to an end. This song was what was blaring when we hit the highway to head west. I miss that van so much, lol....
Beautiful! I'm voting MFC.
I love them both. Just feeling Grievance atm.

one of eddie’s best verses

That along with the "spilled like wine" bit are fantastic lyrics.
Yield really has some of the best lyrics in the PJ canon.

MFC used to be one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs, but I think it was mostly bc of how enamoured I was by that initial guitar riff and guitar tone, it's good but the rest of the song is a bit of a dissapointment after that.

Can we just call this obvious win for Grievance now and move on to the next track?

I think feeling like Grievance is a clear winner made me sell MFC short a little bit. It's a great, little song that knows exactly what it's trying to do and nails it. It may be one of the lesser songs on Yield for me, but that says nothing about the song and more about the record's strengths.

since the specified time doesn't exist does this mean we are stuck on track 9 forever

MFC because “there’s a lot to be said for nowhere” might be one of my favorite Ed lines
