It's the "top democrats" that gives it away, pal. You wanna divorce this line of thinking from what they're pushing, then go ahead.

I mean, yeah, but I don't see how that's relative to you giving QAnon a shred of of believability.

No pause given to the striking similarity among the response % for question 1 and question 2, Burt?
BurtReynolds wrote:Self wrote:What question? The one in the tweet, which is asking about the Q pizzagate conspiracy theory?
the first question as its worded here:

Question 2 is almost the exact sentiment of the initial post from Q.

That's how I feel, except towards pollsters.
That we can agree on.

Why are pollsters asking it then?
Does the answer differ much if the Republican answering it has or has not heard of Qanon?
Sure, an always online Democrat or QAnon is going to know what they
REALLY mean, but that doesn't mean everyone is going to pick up on it.
Maybe they should ask better questions.
I take the results of this one poll to show that the Republicans surveyed, whether knowingly or not, have accepted and absorbed the Q theories.

I take it to show most people are partisan idiots who think their guy is the good guy, despite all available evidence. edit: that, and it shows that there are problems with the questions and how the pollsters ask them.

And this right here is the point.
One of the big shifts in QAnonLand during the last four months has been to try and rebrand. Large sections of the group avoid referring directly to Q at all, adopting other branding (#savethechildren) or simply focusing their public messaging on the claims sans labels.
So the question to answer at this point absolutely isn’t “have you ever heard of QAnon/Pizzagate,” but is instead “how far into this particular community have conspiracy theories derived from QAnon spread?” To do that you need to poll people’s reaction to the principle conspiracy.
The value in placing both questions on the poll is that it does potentially allow you to see any deviation between answers to the first question and answers to the second. In other words, if 37% of Republicans say they believe that top Democrats are engaged in child trafficking but only 11% say they think Donald Trump is working to dismantle an active Democratic Party-based child sex ring, then you have some idea of the size disparity in the Republican community between people who are really just thinking of Epstein etc....and people who fully believe Q conspiracies (Donald Trump is secretly working behind the scenes to save the children).
Yes to Q1 but no to Q2: you believe that some top Democrats are (or were) monsters but don’t believe QAnon conspiracies
No to Q1 but yes to Q2: you believe Donald Trump is working to end a Democratic Party-run sex trafficking ring, but you also think it probably doesn’t exist, and that he’s either taking these actions for show or because he incorrectly believes the ring exists.
Yes to both: you believe top Democrats are involved in an active sex cult that Donald Trump is trying to take down.
So it takes a yes to both questions to demonstrate Q-adjacency. And in this case we can see that there is in effect no difference between the number of Republicans who answered yes to question one and the number of people who answered yes to question two. In each case, it’s about half of all respondents.

I know this is pointless, but there is a distinction between "democratic party run" and the actual question.
