Re: Painted Shield
I have this another full listen - I have heard a few of the songs a few times but hadn’t gotten through the album in a few days because of time constraints and trying to finish up that U2 run.
Anyway, this album is awesome. Still sounds a lot like a solo Stone release (On the Level = Cadillac), but this time I heard a lot of Beatles influences, and there was a natural transition when Spotify took me to newer My Morning Jacket (Climbing That Ladder) right after the album finished. Like any side project, there are pieces where I wish Pearl Jam played with it instead, like Raven and Evil Winds. Man, I loved Time Machine, I Am Your Country, On the Level, Evil Winds, and Raven. I also think there are no weak tracks though if you forced my hand Painted Shield was probably my least favorite. It all works for me.

Re: Painted Shield
I thought the same thing about On the Level sounding just like Cadillac.

Re: Painted Shield
Anyone heard the bonus tracks? How do they compare to the rest of the album?
Also is anyone able to share the painted shield track by track which was on Sirius XM? Thanks!
Loving this album and can’t wait to see where they go with album number 2 and live shows.

Re: Painted Shield
okay finally listened to this a few times. I was holding off for the vinyl.
This is fucking great. Being a fan of mason Jennings, im just so fucking excited for him to create with Stone Gossard.
This album is great. There is so much going on and it really flows like a conceptual artistic statement of sorts. The riffs and production throughout is just fantastic. I love how many of the songs flow right into each other. I love the backup vocals.
Mason sounds excited. I love the instrumentation and the creativity.
There is so much good material on here while at the same time not really having a song that feels like a "single".
Stone needs to write the entire next PJ record.
Super pumped about this album.

It’s really good. I am annoyed that mine still hasn’t arrived in the mail.
