Speaking about those Instant Pots, we had a patient come in about a month ago and hers exploded. She has third degree burns all over her neck, chest and arms. One of the worst things I’ve seen in the office.

Pressure cookers were a thing here long ago. My gran used one. Basically throw a ham in and lock the top and it boils it but way faster but they often exploded too.
You don’t see them anymore

Getting some bags in the mail for the Anova sous vide that someone gave us for Christmas. I think I'll do pork chops first.

Let me know about your process and how that turns out, bune. We’ve got a sous vide from the wedding that we’ve never even opened. I’d like to start using it.

Will do. The bags say they're reusable and that was a big selling point for me.

Not a big fan of fancy toasters with lots of settings. Just give me one with a dial of numbers and let me figure it out

A "bagel setting" that just toasts the inside is a must.

i have a pretty expensive breville toaster oven. it sucks at toasting. i use a $25 oyster toaster.

I agree, but I've found the newer "basic" toasters do a better job of uniformly toasting even bagels.

This bump (and thread) reminds me that we threw out our dingy old toaster in the move and I still need a new one. Hard to believe we've been two weeks in the house and I haven't had a need for a toaster yet.

We still haven't unboxed our sous vide from the wedding, coming up on two years now. Where do you even start with using this thing?
