Yea, some may not like the idea of it, but I’m with you - it was pretty awesome. I was skeptical, but I really enjoyed it and thought they nailed it. It was a very interesting episode.

don't know why anyone would hate that..it was awesome..best part was we dialed it up and mid way through we had a 4.6 earthquake that rattled the house...its the perfect size that feels great without any damage..btw, i want coach beard pants and i will search the internet for them
I loved it, my wife - not so much. And yeah, those pants were awesome!
Yeah my wife wasn't wild about it either. Of all the plot points from last week she wanted to follow up on the subject of this episode was at the very bottom of her list. For me it was fine as a one off. There are more episodes this season so its cool they have the time to experiment but it did have the feel of later season Scrubs where they began to lean too far into the fantasy\surreal aspect of the show and it broke verisimilitude. It's a fine line with shows like this.

I might be misremembering, but didn’t Beard take mushrooms before the game? That might explain the fantasy portion of it unless it was just an internal monologue device

Just rewatched and When the coaches are all in the huddle and admitting things, Beard admits there was a prior game where he accidentally took mushrooms from drinking out of the wrong pot of tea at Jane’s.

What a phenomenal episode.

This show feels wholly unique in the pantheon of sitcom. I've never seen anything like it and I'm fucking here first it.

Great episode. Roy and his apple was brilliant

Danny and his Discomfort in wearing Dress shoes was also gold.
