There was a time when HBO ran Delirious often in its monthly cycle and I actually had cable, man I watched that film many, many times. I adore John Candy and should give it a watch as it has probably been a few decades since I've seen it. Really, any John Candy is good John Candy for me.wease wrote:You are a man of great taste, my friend.epilogue wrote:I love Delirious (and Crumb and Great Outdoors, too). Also in the John Candy subgenre goes Who’s Harry Crumb? and The Great Outdoors. Uncle Buck is good and the biggest hit, but I prefer all 3 I’ve mentioned to it.![]()
It still cracked me up, though.

Re: The funniest movie of all time
The correct answer here would have to be Flying High, surely (that's Airplane everywhere but Aus).
The Castle is probably my personal pick here though.
I remember killing myself in the theatre when I saw The Gods Must be Crazy, but I doubt I'd laugh as hard again now.
A Fish Called Wanda was very very funny.
The Sure Thing was once my favourite movie and I could probably still parrot most of the script if I watched it again now.
The Naked Gun was classic.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High was very funny, but not laugh out loud throughout.
Spaceballs is a personal fave.
I remember thinking Animal House was a stone classic at one time.
Of more recent flicks Old School, Step Brothers and Anchorman have all tickled my fancy.
I also enjoyed Superbad and Happy Gilmore.
Finally the comedies of one Kevin Smith have always been close to my heart, in particular Clerks and my personal fave Dogma.
I'm missing heaps here I am sure.

Hey I laughed out loud at something the other day. I’ve still got it, a touch of humanity in this husk of a human.

THis is the end of the world
That one had me rolling. Especially the entire "jerking off in the bathroom to porn magazines" scene.

I love all the Zoolander mentions. I can make a case for it being my favorite.

Having rewatched both recently, I will say that Anchorman 2 (the version with the shark subplot) is funnier than the first one

Re: The funniest movie of all time
this might belong in the admit something thread, but I've tried to watch anchorman three times, on three separate occasions, and fell asleep at some point in the movie each time.
I've never seen that movie all the way through. I've never tried to go back and watch from where i think i dozed off.
i also didn't laugh much either.

Watch Anchorman 2, whichever cut it is that has a subplot where he raises a baby shark into adulthood and then sings a song for the shark, it's better

Re: The funniest movie of all time
In no way do I think Anchorman 2 is a better movie than the first, but that exchange between Ron and Champ in the chicken restaurant and Champ tells him it’s not chicken, it’s bat is one of the funniest things ever.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Re: The funniest movie of all time
surely, anchorman 2 has some carryover bits from the first movie.
if i try to watch the first one again, and i fall asleep again, i don't think it'll be worth my time watching part two.
