I believe chud did this. Brendan O brien also admitted it in one of the interviews around the reissues.

No. I mean the "studio" version is actually a live version of the song. From a concert.

If you follow the link Strat posted, you'll see they just used the basic drums/bass/rhythm guitar tracks, and then added other stuff in the studio.
