the dog got groomed today, and as soon as i brought her home she needed to go in the backyard to do her business. as soon as she finished, she walked back towards the patio, dropped, and started rolling all around in the grass.

she's such a messy bitch. i love her.

My neighbor’s Great Dane died today. I’ve been enlisted to help move it.

Don’t worry, trag. I won’t take a picture.

ah, man...that's a bummer.

that reminds me...someone on our neighborhood facebook group thought it was a good idea to post a pic of a dead dog in a trash bag their daughter found down by the pond. apparently, it's the second instance of an animal found at the pond in a trash bag. sick. probably someone breeding them nearby. the pic has since been taken down, but i bet it was traumatizing for that kid to find the dog like that.

Got an appointment for my semi-annual checkup this morning. Fasting bloodwork and all that. I’ve not had labs checked in over two years. Hopefully no surprises.

Out of the house to the vet’s car. Myself and another neighbor helped out, as the vet couldn’t do it herself.

Boo, my first mantis, died today; I gave her a tiny burial

she's been with me since Halloween last year and I'm maybe surprisingly sad

my second mantis is happy to move into new digs, however

I need to mow my lawn if it dries out from the morning rain. The weeds really blew up this week.

Good day, so far. Slept in. Had great 10 mile run. Got to have breakfast with my wife while she read the paper and I read a book. I liked the book. And now I'm at work and while that's frustrating, it's also kind of bonkers today. Which is mixing things up nicely without being upsetting.

Good day. Pray it continues....

We got cellfree DNA results back today. Negative for all three of the trisomies. Wife will be 12 weeks pregnant on Monday.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.
