not sure it's recommended if you're sweating.
Spike's not sweating, bub
I’m sorry you can’t swing a riding mower, Reid.

Pfft.
Seriously though, sorry for hating on your mow style. At the end of the day, it's us against the folks who contract out their mows. Happy clipping, rider man.

I’m going to grow a vertical lawn up the side of my future townhome that has 6 feet between the neighboring structure

From the sound of it, you can have a cold Chablis and pedicure
while you mow.

If we could afford it, I’d gladly pay to have our yard mowed. We’ve got a half acre and I push mow it with the electric.

I get personal satisfaction mowing my own yard. Even if it’s in oppressive heat. I use a self propelled push mower. I wouldn’t ever go back to a manual push mower.
A former neighbor (moved last year) was a lawn freak. Mowing several times a week. Always watering. Formulating his own lawn food/ fertilizer. Constantly pulling weeds. Each season he’d bring in dirt/sand to cover his entire yard then blend in with a rake system on the back of a riding mower. He’d also put some weighted thing on back of mower to push down the ground(?). He’d also grow grass in his garage under lights. I’d be in bed around 10pm and hear him out my window working in his yard. He could be up until 11pm at times, and be up early to work as well. Bare spots that he laid seed he’d put the uv light bulbs on the bare spots. A weird pink glow emanated from his back yard.
Anyway, he moved and the next guy moved in and tried to keep (the old neighbor even stopped by a few times to see if his old lawn was doing ok). The new guy gave up after a few months and looks as half -assed as mine now

I went ahead and started in the back this morning before the dew had dried. The electric did not like that. I went thru 2 batteries and half of the third before I finished. Have to wait until tomorrow to do the front.

did this guy manage a golf course or something
that sand thing not a bad idea tbh... i got some spots that struggle in the heat and i think part is that the soil is too compact ... some sand might help give the roots more breathing room to dig

Got a nice, long mow & edge going today. The grass now sits atop the front yard like bright, green sheet cake for a precious few days before we do it all over again.

yeah, this one was super rewarding because i mulched up all the dead grass clumps from the previous mow, when we'd let it go too long.
