I thought they’d maybe figured it out by mid song, but then the outro was off. I think my ears just got used to the out of tuneness.
I think it was Mike’s guitar, cuz Stone isn’t playing on the outro and it still sounds off. How did they get through the whole song?

The weird minor verses actually sound pretty cool! I dunno if it was intentional or not? It sounds like more than just a downtuning but Im confused what's happening exactly.

I'm not familiar with how to play this on guitar but is it possible that the chorus and bridge -- which sound like they're mostly just power chords, except for those few high notes that I believe are played by Stone -- just don't come into contact with the strings on the guitar that were tuned differently? The verses definitely sound off in a way that the rest of the song doesn't quite. Reminded me of this video:

Maybe Mike was trapped in The Upside Down for the song’s duration.

It's definitely in a lower key than in previous years - but maybe Mike's guitar is also (accidentally) tuned wrong too, like it's in an open minor tuning?
oof.
Mike’s tech must’ve handed him the wrong guitar. He does play this one in an open tuning but this one ain’t tuned right for the tune.

i agree either mike's tuning is off or he is just playing the wrong chord
Ed def realizes it but can't exactly break to tell him
it sounds kind of cool though
what a low energy intro
3 minutes of ed rambling and then this stinker with a boring ass all-white background
and ed drops a random F-bomb in it
such a classless twit

the flunkie running the laptop with the screen projections probably couldn’t figure out which song it was so didn’t know what to project.

Why couldn’t Mike figure out he was out of tune? He’s arguably the biggest musical savant in the band. Is he using again?

I think the visuals start with Scared of Fear, there are no projections in the first four songs.

I don’t know how they landed on “just keep going” as the best option when things were obviously going wrong from the outset.

Whatever was going on w Faithfull was made worse by the house lights coming on repeatedly.
This show was lacking energy after 4 songs so when they went into the new songs it was a big shot in the arm for what felt like the crowd and the band. In hindsight I’d have loved it if they walked on stage, played I’m Open and then went right into SoF or R,R.
The highlights were
React, Respond. What a beast. It could be a live staple like Animal.
Happy Bday/WFS was a dream I think.
Light Years was the biggest surprise and had as much energy as any song played all night.
Better Man, Setting Sun.

they should really be turning the house lights off / low for the slow burn intro songs
standing up house lights on with a blank white screen is boring af

React Respond is like something written by an AI asked to 'combine the worst versions of modern Ed vocal approach in one song'
spritzy punker delivery
same vocal tonality as he has used in other (crappy modern era) PJ songs before
glam bridge
micro machines word salad
breathy part
and the song pieces sound pieced together like an erratic chinese 9 year old on 12 cups of coffee
but i could where where the one guitar part (they appear to have borrowed from RHCP) could sound good live if turned to 11
perhaps i will seek out a churro in addition to a beer / urination during the song 5-8 drought
or maybe just sell my tickets i could put that money to work somewhere better
