This set is

I was on the lawn. We only had tickets for night 1 and thus we drove ALL THE WAY BACK TO PORTLAND after the show. I'm never doing that again. We rolled back into the Rose City around 4AM.DeLima wrote:did everybody camp out overnight?hlniv wrote:Yep, about 5 rows deep in front of Mike. The fucking sunset, man. I still have a picture of the temp reading in our rental car that said 115 degreesmatt reeder wrote:Were you there? That show was amazing - the single best show I've ever seen by any band, and I've seen a lot of really amazing shows by a lot of amazing bands.hlniv wrote:This is mine as well. It's like the perfect 1991 set. What an awesome two shows. They nailed Dirty Frank and shocked everyone there. The Little Wing tease night 1 in Yellow Ledbetter, and then the full tune the next nightmatt reeder wrote:

We did, at a campground close by. A lot of people did. It was still real hot, even at night. Ended up in the back of our rental SUV most of the night, though. Went swimming in the Columbia river the next day before night 2. It was hot as hell, but the water was ice cold. Some dude paddled by in a canoe and got me stonedDeLima wrote:did everybody camp out overnight?hlniv wrote:Yep, about 5 rows deep in front of Mike. The fucking sunset, man. I know we agree on this one, Spenno. We've talked about it a lot before. I also liked it more than 2003 and I saw one of the best shows of the entire 2003 tour.Birds in Hell wrote:Man, that's a good looking set.
Agreed about the 2006 tour, it was excellent. Though it feels vaguely heretical, I think it was much better than 2003.
I like the album too. Not as good as the records before it but miles better than either of the last two.
I'd put the last few shows of the first NA leg of 2003 up against anything the band has done show-wise since the turn of the century.matt reeder wrote:I know we agree on this one, Spenno. Actually, I'd say the same about the closing run of NA leg 1 2000. But my strong bias is 2000 tour uber alles.DeLima wrote:I'd put the last few shows of the first NA leg of 2003 up against anything the band has done show-wise since the turn of the century.matt reeder wrote:I know we agree on this one, Spenno. Really, Raleigh to State College is pretty incredible. I was at Champaign, which is one of the best of that whole run. I think Uniondale could have been the best of the whole tour if shit hadn't gone haywire in the second encore (though I personally love the results). Hell, it might still be the best.DeLima wrote:I'd put the last few shows of the first NA leg of 2003 up against anything the band has done show-wise since the turn of the century.matt reeder wrote:I know we agree on this one, Spenno. Jones Beach III > Saratoga > Boston I > Boston II > Camden I > Camden II > Washington DC > Pittsburgh is incredible.DeLima wrote:Actually, I'd say the same about the closing run of NA leg 1 2000.
