I can see what you mean, although I haven't ever thought too much about it. It may be obvious but I would say some of Pearl Jam's peers probably have a similar makeup of fans. Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots for example. Though with STP I wonder if bringing in the guy from Linkin Park has brought in some new fans, I haven't followed them in a while so I have no idea.
The musical scene Pearl Jam arose from was certainly very white and male but they've been around for quite a while and have experimented a little. What elements do you think contribute to the fanbase's diversity (or lack thereof)?
