If you're a detail person: Mike's noodling the intro of "Satan's Bed" before the song starts is missing from the new version.

Minor thing - possibly lost in a reel swap that night.


Every time I listen to this, I wonder if people hearing it for the first time realize that the jam after "Once" is Ed on drums (with Dave A playing toms behind him).

Dave A: mocks the crowd's chanting "Eddie"

I am loving the master, they don't play Sonic Reducer like this anymore, holy shit! I remember I listened to this on Z100 the night it aired with my stepbrother, All we know of Whipping was it was called Don't Need, Satan's Bed was Already in Love. Ultimately these two live verision made me never ever embrace the album versions of these songs.

Great sound on this. Besides the well-founded gripe that we already had a good recording of this show, this is all gravy (especially since it was free for 10Cers). Wish they did this 2-3 times a year at least--maybe this is the start of something.

For such an iconic Pearl Jam show, it is pretty incredible that there aren't any photos or video circulating.

There was footage of WMA shown in the on-site museum at PJ20 but I think that's the extent of it.

Hope that this doesnt destroy its mystique, but for the first time ever they showed a footage of Sonic Reducer from this concert yesterday on that Lin Manuel live event.

Not sure what Eddie says but a quick Google search indicates that April 3, 1968 was the date of MLK's final speech.

I always thought it was, "Michael Jackson *was* innocent...26 years of his life." I figured he meant that MJ had still seemed like a cool, relatable guy until the mega-mega-stardom happened with Thriller and then it rapidly went downhill with Neverland, hyperbolic chamber, sleepovers with kids, etc.

But then at that time I also still thought that Bel Biv Devoe said "Never trust a big buttonous smile," where "buttonous" was an adjective describing a type of smile that resembled buttons. So I might not be the best judge of things Eddie mumbles in a live recording.

Yeah, 100%. Listening to the Seattle '93 vault from last year recently and it sounds amazing; relaxed and clear and just juicy enough. Natural is a great word for it.

In contrast, this new Atlanta remix from same period just isn't doing anything for me. Obviously everything is there in the mix, it just doesn't hang together in a way that's at all pleasing. Gonna have to dig out the original pre-fm source which iirc is actually a tad overly sweet. Brett could have really tightened this up nicely.

Been comparing this new mix, the original pre-fm, and Seattle '93 Vault some more. My biggest gripe is the absence of any 'air' or space on the new remix. There's just no room to breathe anywhere, like it's been filled up (unnaturally) with ambience or something. By contrast the original and Seattle '93 are without this issue and really sound much more relaxed.

Maybe it's just down to compression. Without being completely brickwalled, the new mix is a lot less dynamic than Seattle '93. Has it been 'mastered for Spotify'? Albeit, ironically, that was an improvement for Avocado.

When I say "vault" I'm talking about general boots they release on nugs and CD - not the "vault series".

I kinda forgot there was a distinction.

I don't object to them releasing this of course, but it's a huge waste of time if it means a long gap before the next one.

They've been doing that a lot lately.

Hopefully they have others planned!

In the shop it is now listed as Vault 11. I don't know at this point and neither do they.

"Vault #1" didn't have a vinyl release either.
