Potatoes are used in spaghetti sauce to remove acidity. they aren't normally eaten but thrown out once the job is done.

Tonights Dinner. Coconut chicken, home made cranberry sauce and potato wedges. Total cost of meal (with plenty of leftovers): $13.49

I like it rare to medium rare, myself. Definitely not cultured enough for steak tartare and bone marrow, though.
