I went through long periods in which ES was pretty much the only music I listened to. His strumming/picking patterns/ability are highlights for me. See Condor Ave. and Somebody I Used To Know.

Angeles is my favorite example of this, but yeah
Angeles is pretty straight forward, .. uptempo picking. Skillful, nonetheless. The patterns in Condor Ave. and Somebdoy That I Used To Know are not obvious and kinda difficult to emulate. Very creative usages of chord changes and rhythmic strumming/picking.

Yeah, it's a classic album, and it's not even fully realized. Either/Or is what introduced me to ES, XO is the one I would call his "best", but Basement might actually be my favorite
