how far do ya run?
Not very far. About twenty minutes once or twice a week. I'm happy with that and have no goals to improve there.

I'm probably still a few weeks out from taking the bike out for real, but we're getting close. bune may scoff at my meager goals, but my goal for the year is to work up to a fifty-mile day. I don't know that I've ever done much more than about twenty before, and that was with a long, leisurely, two-meal break at the halfway. I might end up needing to trade my 'hybrid' bike in for something lighter, though.
I scoff at no one! When I started out my goal was to make it to work and back and that was only 15 miles one way.

I never really thought about this but you're right. When I get to work and shower, my core is
cold, I have to stand in the hot water for awhile.
Didn't ride today - 27 MPH winds with 50-60 MPH gusts? Fuck you, Gaia!

Got the
first big rideof the year coming tomorrow. The last time I did the 100 route I hurt my knee going up a hill around mile 75 so I decided to do the 66- and 34-mile routes instead. Still 100 in the end, right?
Probably going to do the 34 first and then the 18 since my son wants to do it and then head out on the 66.

It's pretty embarrassing that I haven't posted in this thread until just now.

I clicked on this thinking it was "The Bikini Thread". You can't imagine how disappointed I am right now.

I always devote one of the TVs to it at work, but haven't fully been following. Any drama shaping up in the last stage I should be aware of?

It's finished now. Was an ok tour, some good fighting in the mountains, tough fight for the green jersey, and some big tumbles along the way.

Saw several of those tumbles. How can we make this sport safer for athletes?

A dipshit co-worker bet me $100 that I couldn't do a century ride on my single gear Walmart road bike.
Dude's an idiot who's been trying to convince me that a 100-mile bike ride is just as tough as a 100-mile footrace.
His stupidity is kinda hard to comprehend.
Also, I didn't mention to him that I did a century ride 3 years ago on the same bike, but with the hub flipped to the fixed-gear side.
Single gear's gonna be a piece of cake compared to fixed gear.
Time to slap on my aerobars.

I fucking love BCycle. If your city has one and you don't own a bike yourself, please support it. Better yet, when you travel, plan to explore the city using this convenient and healthy mode of transportation.
