What kind of holes do you have in your yard!?
Construction next door. We sneak over and snoop around at night. They dug a small but deep hole in front of one of the houses. My dog is pretty big but he isn't exactly an athlete.
Good thing he has you. Did you pretend that you had to save him in a hurry before a group of bandits returned?
He didn't even seem to appreciate it. Like he just expected me to save him. He would never survive in the wasteland.

You just witnessed the action film's Kid A and you missed it. We could have bonded! This will be your 300 in a few years.

Don't look at the individual brush strokes. You'll see a mess. Consume the entire composition.

Trust me, I'm looking at the whole composition. I'm not saying it's a bad movie. It's extremely impressive on a technical level. But I don't think it ever rises above merely being impressive. I need more than that. The more I think about it, the more I think the score really hurt it.

LV plays the part of too high of expectations and was let down
bmac plays the part of tempered expectations and was blown away

I'm not really surprised by these reactions from a movie that I never really understood where the hype was coming from. The trailers made it seems like a popcorn flick worth going to a matinee for

As I said already, expectations do not affect my feelings about a movie. I was not "let down."

75% contrarianism, 20% presence of Adam Sandler or Godzilla, only 5% expectation.

no way. the world needs its Adam Sandlers and Godzillas and LVs. Without darkness there can be no light.
