Re: Whole Albums in Concert
How long until they decide to cover an entire album?
If it's Quadrophenia, I might go.
But it won't be.

That would almost be next on my list, at 50% of my shows.Kevin Davis wrote:I would have to check but I think "Elderly Woman" is the only song I have heard at every show.
Even Flow - 22/22
DTE - 20/22
Alive - 19/22
Corduroy - 19/22
Better Man - 18/22
Given to Fly - 16/22
Daughter - 14/22
Black - 13/22
Jeremy - 13/22
Yellow Ledbetter - 12/22
Elderly Woman - 11/22
Porch - 10/22
Rearviewmirror - 10/22
Go - 10/22
To stip's earlier point, though, the list of tunes above sure still gets me going when I hear them, there's not even one on that list that I complain about when i hear it played live.

Oh yeah. Now that you mention it, I own their Remain in Light concert. It wasn't awful...even kind of good for repeat listens...but it didn't make me want more of whatever it is they have to offer.theplatypus wrote:They're already flirting with Phishness

Because it's not very good. Whereas Avocado is kinda good, just poorly represented on the album.Alex wrote:is there a reason why backspacer is more disliked than the avocado album?theplatypus wrote:The Pit doesn't like Backspacer either.
Backspacer is basically 35 minutes of forgettable Pearl Jam. There's not a single moment on the album that is truly memorable.

Remembering the lyric well enough to post it kinda undermines your point, no?McParadigm wrote:And then the lightning strike sets you freehlniv wrote:Backspacer is basically 35 minutes of forgettable Pearl Jam. There's not a single moment on the album that is truly memorable.

given how poorly my "matt cameron's songwriting" thread went, i'm not sure i want to express my thoughts about the relative qualities of backspacer and the avocado album

I did.
Still don't think I'd call it a good song. However, the line "hoping that when she came she'd be coming just for me - ah yeah!" certainly is interesting, questionably memorable, but definitely interesting.
