To be clear, I made an argument for how someone's artistic output could have a positive effect on an individual. This I believe is true. If you did not know the allegations against someone to be true before you made a connection with their art, then I can imagine how you might defend the contribution of their art. However, I personally, would find it impossible to have a newly positive experience with someone's art, once I learned anything about them that I found abhorrent.

To be fari about Polanski's output, Rosemary's Baby and The Pianist were amazing. And these are the only films of his I have seen so far

I don't agree that paying money to see a Polanski film is indistinguishable from providing support to him as a human being.

It's not difficult for me to separate the art from the artist, at least in this circumstance.

I bought a vinyl copy of Filosofem, even though Varg Vikernes is a known racist and murderer. Who he is as an individual doesn't stop me from loving that album, or wanting to own a copy of it.
